Join With Us to Serve More Senior Citizens

The goal of the Arizona Senior Citizens Law Project is to ensure that senior citizens in Maricopa County have access to legal representation, regardless of their income level. We help to level the playing field and ensure seniors have equal access to justice.

We have seen firsthand the difference that free legal representation can make in the lives of seniors. We have helped countless clients obtain critically needed benefits, secure fair housing, access crucial healthcare services, and protect themselves from exploitation and abuse. But we can’t do it alone. We rely on the generous support of donors to be able to help seniors in need.

The Arizona Senior Citizens Law Project is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization such that donations made to the Law Project may be tax deductible. In addition, the Arizona Senior Citizens Law Project is recognized as a Qualified Charitable Organization by the Arizona Department of Revenue, and donations may be eligible for the dollar-to-dollar Arizona Charitable Tax Credit (details below).

By making a donation to the Arizona Senior Citizens Law Project, you can help provide free legal services to the senior community in Maricopa County. Every dollar counts and will go towards providing free legal services to seniors in need. Together, we can stand with the most vulnerable. Thank you for your support.

Donations are Eligible for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit

The Arizona Senior Citizens Law Project is an Arizona Qualifying Charitable Organization.  A donation to the Law Project may qualify for a dollar-for-dollar state income tax credit.

About the Credit

To be eligible to receive this credit, all you have to do is donate to the Arizona Senior Citizens Law Project and then claim the amount of your donation on your Arizona state tax return. You may receive a tax credit for any amount up to $421.00 if you are a single filer, or for any amount up to $841.00 if filing as a couple.

This credit is more than a deduction which just reduces taxable income; it is a dollar-for-dollar credit which can reduce the amount of income tax that must be paid to the state.

How it Works

The eligibility rules for claiming the tax credit are quite lenient. You do not have to itemize taxes in order to qualify. What’s more, eligible donations can be made after the end of the calendar year. As you long as you make a donation or before April 15th, you can choose to apply the tax credit to either the current or prior tax year.

At the time of tax filing, complete Arizona Form 321 and include our Qualifying Charitable Organization (QCO) Code 22509. For more information, you may wish to contact the Arizona Department of Revenue or your preferred tax advisor.

Impact of the Credit

The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit is a simple and effective way to reduce your state tax burden and redirect your tax dollars to help assure that senior citizens in our community have equal access to the justice system through high quality legal assistance.
